Objective

Our summer courses adhere to stimulating and enjoyable programmes that allow students to mix with other students. In addition, the safe and welcoming environment of a family homestay will encourage students to practice their English with new-found confidence.

Our main objective is to ensure that students improve their English in a friendly environment, whilst enjoying a memorable visit to Ireland. Making friends with students from other countries is also an important part of the Sásta Language School experience.

Location

The courses are staged in St. Patrick's school in Navan.

Navan town is situated in county Meath on the river Boyne. It has a population of approximately 34,000 people and is located approximately 50 kilometres from Dublin, Ireland’s capital city.

County Meath is considered Ireland ’s heritage capital as it is the home for several of the most important historic sites and monuments that are linked to Irish history.

Ages: 12 years – 16 years

Duration: 2,3 or 4 weeks

Dates: July

Classes

15 hours per week with a native English-speaking teacher.

Classes are held in the mornings for 3 hours per day from Monday to Friday. The classes are very interactive in nature focusing primarily on English conversation and comprehension.

Host Families

Students stay with an Irish family in a single or double room. Only one Spanish student is permitted per family to ensure students communicate in English. Full board is provided.

All of our hosts have been carefully selected for their ability to welcome students from other countries. Each host is vetted and constantly monitored by Sásta Language School and our Family Liaison Co-ordinator to ensure that they provide a safe, secure and welcoming 'home from home' environment.

Sásta Language School tries, where possible, to place students with families who have children of similar ages.

Excursions

Our excursion programmes have been carefully selected to suit different age groups as we believe that education does not finish when the lessons end. Designed to educate, encourage and stimulate students’ interest, our excursions offer a wonderful combination of “fun and learning” to ensure a language experience which students will never forget!

Each week there is one full day and one half day excursion to a local place of interest. Destinations can include cities and towns such as Dublin, Kilkenny, Mullingar, Wicklow.
(Destinations to be confirmed.)

Sports activities are held in the afternoon, they are conducted by trained sports teachers.

  • Sports may include soccer, gaelic football, hurling, swimming, tennis, volleyball, handball, basketball, table tennis, tug-of-war and other team games
